Dr. Patty is a native of Burlington and continues to make his home in this city. He is a graduate of Williams High School, and did his undergraduate and graduate work in Biology, at the University of North Carolina.
He completed his doctoral work for his degree as a Doctor of Optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1982, graduating with honors as a member of several honor societies.
A passion in his professional career has been his involvement in providing eye care to children in underdeveloped nations via his work with “Healing the Children”, as well as his church, which has established a mission enclave in Peru. He has been a participant and leader on eight different mission trips.
Dr. Patty has been married for over thirty years, to his wife Beth. They have two children, Lawson and Barrett. To date, they have 4 grandchildren and enjoy spending time with them.
