A History of Patty Vision Centers
Becoming licensed in 1982, Dr. Reid Patty started his career as an associate in an established practice, in Burlington, and, shortly after, moved on to establish offices in Burlington and Yanceyville as independent practices.
February 1983 saw the beginnings of the practice location in Yanceyville, North Carolina. This was originally a part of the Caswell Family Medical Center, a rural, health initiative medical facility in the area. As this location is in one of the most underserved counties in the state, it was felt that this was a needed partner to the medical care being provided, and much charitable work was offered from this new center. This office, named Caswell Eye Center, continues as an existing, independently owned practice run by Dr. Reid Patty.
In the fall of 1984, Dr. Patty opened an office in his hometown of Burlington, named “Burlington Eye Center”, and it continued to operate, under this name, for a number of years.
During the summer of 1996, much happened in these two locations, as each worked through an impressive expansion. Yanceyville moved into a newly built, 2,250 square foot building, allowing increases in our optical inventory and our equipment in addition to allowing us to further our professional abilities to the community. At this same time, Burlington’s office also moved into a 3,300 square foot facility.
Similarly, this expansion afforded us a larger optical, more contact lens care options, and increased professional opportunities. As a final step to this expansion, the name change to “Patty Vision Centers”, was made, along with incorporation of Dr. Patty’s practices. An on—going part of his practice philosophy has been the incorporation of in–house ophthalmological medical consultations.
In 2003, Dr. Patty expanded his practice to a new location in Roxboro, North Carolina.
